Across Destiny and Destiny 2, Bungie has delivered 10 raids, each with their own quirks, themes, and memorable moments. The short platforming stint gets interesting when you introduce the optional objective of making sure a ball makes it all the way to end, but is too short and lacks the visual flair to stand as a good breather from the action. The last two fights are surprisingly nuanced, however, with a number of different phases and sequences which teams must work through in order to succeed. The layering of multiple elements works well and still makes for some rewarding moments, but the familiarity of its encounters as well as its loot being recolored versions of the Eater of Worlds sets make it the raid we ran the least. Kicking things off with a platforming segment is a bold move, but the focus on making sure everyone is in the right spot at the right time instead of having each player conquer the challenge on their own is a step forward. Shooting things in Destiny is fun in and of itself, but expectations for how that shooting is contextualized are a bit higher.
Anthem will have matchmaking for every activity in game and has also a opt out option

Well the thought of matchmaking for the VoG sounds like a great idea. As you’ve mentioned finding new people to take on the raid can be.
Yet lone wolf players still find it a struggle to access much of the high level content, simply because very little of it can be played alone, and the game purposely limits matchmaking options. Bungie seems firm on this point, and with only a few weeks until the launch of The Taken King , there has been no announcement to the contrary. Of all the Destiny debates to persist through Year 1, none is as polarizing as issues of matchmaking. Both sides make strong arguments of support either way.
Opposition is usually framed by the fact that some content, notably Temple of Osiris and raids , would be brutally difficult to play in squads with no communication. Lone wolf players still find it a struggle to access much of the high level content, simply because very little of it can be played alone. While LFG sites offer options for those who are feeling lonely, they certainly do not represent a panacea solution without problems.
As a gamer, I play a lot. Until the emergence of Destiny a year ago, the word casual seldom had negative connotations in gaming circles. Imagine being scolded for this in a public forum…the gaming equivalent of being dressed down for not studying for a test. Having sampled raids, I can give them a pass on this. They are not just difficult, but complex, requiring virtually everyone to be on a mic, or at least be listening to the team.
Can I enjoy Destiny without a group of friends?

There really is no reason NOT to include matchmaking for raids. a majority vote to kick (Some exceptions like 3 to 4 trolls ruining a VOG raid.).

# Destiny 2 Needs Raid Matchmaking | Destiny The Show Mode went over extremely well and we have VoG coming this week, its a great.
Yet lone wolf players still find it a struggle to access much of the high level content, simply because very little of it can be played alone, and the game purposely limits matchmaking options. Bungie seems firm on this point, and with only a few weeks until the launch of The Taken King, there has been no announcement to the contrary. Good read and i wholly agree. There really is no reason NOT to include matchmaking for raids.
You’re only restricting the player’s options, Bungie. This was one big reason I quit playing. Most friends moved on soon after release and I wasn’t trying to lurk forums to find a group or the silly ass method they made to implement clans. The clan feature was just ridiculous. Bungie pioneered matchmaking lol, those people who were responsible must have joined i. Bungie isn’t even a shadow of its former self after all the talent joined i.
ELI5: How is having matchmaking for Destiny’s raids a bad thing?
July I just started getting back into the game, no DLC yet – waiting for the package with everything. I did go from level 21 when I put the game down before to 27 at the moment. Despite not being to do the Weekly Heroic Strikes to get strange coins, I’m 1 coin away from being able to afford some 13 coin item from Xur next weekend. The only thing in the base game I haven’t done yet is Vault of Glass.
About how long does that take, and would anybody be willing to go through it with me?
honestly you would be Much more frustrated with raid matchmaking. and only time doing vog was this and it never want to raid until year 3.
The next Activision Blizzard earnings call takes place May 4 and will undoubtedly bring with it new Destiny 2 information ahead of the gameplay reveal. Destiny is all about the community so the more tools Bungie can put inside of the game to cultivate that community, the better! Learn about the next hotfix that arrives before the end of the month. We revisit the original Destiny 1 Alpha and Beta to talk about timelines, exclusivity, stats, and more.
Could we see the PS4 beta getting early access like last time? Learn about charity initiatives that could land you a studio tour of Bungie or lunch with the Devs. We also talk about Crossplay while answering a listeners question. Thanks for listening! This week we discuss Destiny 2 being hosted through Steam just a rumor for now. A new Saladin bobblehead is available for preorder.
Destiny’s Lack of Matchmaking Persists Leading Into Year 2
Activision loves destiny’s April update and is promising more consistent content. Glad they’re acknowledging this need. The only thing is that lots of people already have a team that they do raids with,so to add matchmaking to them would kidda make it worse cause you would have all these people that have no idea what there doing. So if you used it you would be in a lobby of people, hoping that they will get carryed buy others of a higher light which is not fun.
I too agree with the raid matchmaking That’s why you would have to make it like any MMO and give the player the ability to choose match making or not.
All the more reason to add raid matchmaking. I’ve done VoG a lot, and managed a Hard Mode completion, which I think was one of the best things I’ve done in.
We all know Destiny is a successful game. We’ve all had so much fun playing in the Campaign, Crucible, Patrol, and Strikes. But what about Raids? There are those of us who still can’t play just because we have no one to play with, and it’s pointless trying to solo your way through one with near impossible odds with a painfully difficult task that will reset the whole mission every Tuesday correct me if I’m wrong.
I say “we” because it’s futile trying to to this alone. But now you can help by signing this petition. Although I’m happy with what Bungie’s been doing for us all; with all these patches, weekly updates, new content and the monthly events “Iron banner”, “Queens Wrath” and “Trials of Osiris”.
